If you are designing a country garden landscape, you are probably already aware of the fact that there are an endless myriad of different things that you can do to turn your landscaping endeavor into something that is truly unique. There are all kinds of different elements in your landscaping and gardening effort that you can give a country feel to without losing the unique nature of your landscape. Here are some quick tips for creating country garden landscaping looks in your own yard easily and effective without having to spend a lot of money in the process.
- One of the first things that you need to consider with your country garden landscaping effort is the hard scape elements, which are things like rocks, pottery, fences, walls and other similar details. You should focus on putting these elements in first, because plants, flowers and even trees can grow on and around them, but it will be harder to place them once your plants have been established. Some of the best hard scape elements for a country garden landscaping endeavor will include trellises, white picket fences, arranged stones, small retainer walls and other similar elements. Once you put these elements in, you are well on your way to creating the perfect country garden landscaping look.
- Now that your hard scape elements have been established, the next step is to consider your plants. What will you grow and where will you put them? Plan your garden out on paper first, giving consideration to the colors, sizes and other details of plants and flowers before you plant them. Planting a tree with roots that grow horizontally may decimate your flower beds, but planting trees with deep, vertical growing roots will allow flowers and other plants to grow directly around your trees. How much space you have will also dictate what kinds of plants you attract. Keep in mind that native plants always grow better than non native species, especially when it comes to country garden landscaping.
- If you are short on space and need to stick primarily to a container based country garden landscaping endeavor, do not convince yourself that you are short on ideas. For example, some people have planted smaller plants like flowers and herbs in tea pots and tea cups, allowing them to create unique and exciting pottery and containers for their country garden landscaping effort without taking up a lot of space. There are other ways to create a country garden landscaping effort using small containers for your plants. Buy up old antique watering cans and other unique features, make sure they are converted into working pots or planters, and scatter them around your space with plants inside.
- If you are container gardening or gardening in tight spaces, you should also consider how different plants will work together when touching. Putting plants that do not get along well together can cause one plant to overtake another, which can be detrimental to the health of your country garden landscape.
